Posters of the former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings advertising her presidential bid has surfaced nationwide.

The posters have a smiling Nana Konadu in a head gear and in NDC paraphernalia with the inscription, “Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings for President 2012.”

Among other things, the posters are calling on Mrs Rawlings to rescue the NDC from its sinking image and the foot soldiers from state of oblivion they have been put into.

It is not clear who is behind the new surge to have the leader of the 31st December Women’s Movement contest the 2012 elections.

Joy News’ Araba Koomson reported the posters have been pasted very close to the Greater Accra regional and National offices of the opposition New Patriotic Party.

Spokespersons to Mrs. Rawlings have dissociated themselves from the posters; Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings (FONKAR) are tightlipped and would not comment, Luv FM’S Elton John Brobbey reported from the Ashanti Region.

There are reports similar posters have been traced in the Eastern Region as well.

The new trend only increases speculations that Mrs Rawlings will contest the 2012 elections as an independent candidate after a humiliating defeat she suffered in the hands of the sitting president John Mills in the NDC primary.

She is however yet to make any official comment on the matter.
